Verifying 'USB-to-RJ45 Console' Pin Definition Before Connecting to FWA Series RJ45 Port

Purpose:

This document describes an "USB to RJ45 rollover console cable" compatibility with ENPD product  for customer reference, 

Target Audience:

For Advantech TSE, RBU AE, outsourcing service engineer(s) and End customer with the following knowledges  :

• Hardware troubleshooting experience

Content:

1.  Following link are the Advantech FWA series and Cisco RJ45 console pin definition, and  We recommend using a Cisco-compatible USB-to-RJ45 console cable to connect to the Advantech FWA series RJ45 console port.

2.  Some "USB-to-RJ45 console (ex: CH340)" RJ45  definition is not compatibility with Cisco, and this cable's PIN5 (DCD#) will output voltage to interfere console redirection function.

When user installs non Cisco compatibility USB-to-RJ45 console with FWA series, Terminal utility (ex: putty) will display garbled characters
