How to power on/off system via IPMITOOL over LAN?

Purpose :

This guide is to provide a simple step-by-step guidance for users to power on/off system via IPMITOOL over LAN.

Applicable model list :

All products with BMC functions.

Requirement :

Environment with available ipmitool utility. Please refer to How to install IPMItool.

Steps :

1- Power on:

#ipmitool -I lanplus -H $bmc_ip -U $user_name -P user_pw chassis power on

1- Power off:

#ipmitool -I lanplus -H $bmc_ip -U $user_name -P user_pw chassis power off
