Scope:
Applies to Advantech BMC Remote Power Control functions.
Target Audience:
Advantech server users who need to manage system power remotely.
Options:
Reset – Restarts the system immediately without ACPI state change.
Power off – Forces the system to shut down instantly like long press on power button bringing the system to ACPI S5 state.
Power on – Starts the system if it is currently powered off. This action brings the system to ACPI S0 state.
Power cycle – Turns the system off and then back on automatically.
Graceful shutdown – Sends a shutdown request to the OS, allowing it to close applications and save data before powering off.
Remote Boot – Boots the system remotely, often from virtual mounted media (ISO, CD/DVD). This feature is only available on request and needs a customized BIOS.
