FAQ How to install GUI on CentOS 7 Server

Purpose

Share some steps to guide reader install basic GUI on CentOS 7 based OS (text mode)

Target Audience

All users who need to install CentOS 7 based OS  on Advantech products without GUI supports.

Use Cases

Sometime with GUI supports, user could be easier to run/monitor multiple tools in graphic interface

How To

Most of our testing environments were installed Linux server distributions (e.g. CentOS 7 Server). Most of their output were set from terminal port (console), because there’s no physical VGA connector from the machines. For some test scenarios, it will be easier to perform test/check under GUI environments. This document introduces how to install gnome on CentOS server and connect to the DUT through VNC.
