1. Purpose:
This article provides steps on how to access x86 via Console cable on Windows.
2. Target Audience:
All users owning Advantech devices with console port.
3. Prerequisites:
- Console cable
- PC/Laptop
- Putty
4. Steps:
a- Connect the console cable to the PC
2 types of Console port
- RJ45
- RS232 DB-9 Female
b- Apply the following configurations to your terminal:
- Baud rate: 115200
- Data bits : 8
- Stop bits: 1
c- Find the serial line number via Device Manager on Windows and fill it on "serial line to connect to" as above.
d- Hit on the button "open" from putty, power on x86 platform, click <F2> or <Del> on keyboard once BIOS PIST screen show up
e- Use "UEFU: Built-in EFI Shell" as 1st priority in Boot Option #1
f- Boot up in UEFI shell mode.
