Pre-requirement & reference:
How to approach BMC on Advantech CIoT platforms
How to setup BMC IP address via BIOS
* Advantech’s IANA Enterprise Number used for OEM commands is 002839h
* IANA = Internet Assigned Number Authority
Purpose:
This article will introduce how to switch Management Ethernet ports (front panel) to dedicate BMC usage or shared NIC on SKY-8101 series.
Target Audience:
All users who are using Advantech SKY-8101 series products
Use Cases:
For user who wants to physically isolate management traffic to BMC alone , we will suggest to switch MGT port to "dedicate" mode.
How to approach this? By switch set on SW4
Figure from SCM.
Let's check the difference on SKY-8101 in Operating System in below
Default : Shared NIC mode, both mgmt devices can be seen in OS Ethernet list.
