Purpose:
Since the FWA-1010VC series models include a SoHo switch, identifying all Ethernet ports on this machine is a frequently asked question. This article will provide a detailed introduction to these physical interfaces
Target Audience:
All users who are using Advantech FWA-1010VC series models.
Use Cases:
Due to SoHo switch design on FWA-1010VC , the OS will have interfaces less than the label in front panel.
In OS : User should recognize 4 I354 devices from PCI list
00:14.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I354 (rev 03)
00:14.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I354 1.0 GbE Backplane (rev 03)
00:14.2 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I354 (rev 03)
00:14.3 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I354 (rev 03)
As mentioned above, it appears 4 in total is expected = 2 for dual media ports (note fiber or copper only) , 1 connect to SoHo switch , 1 for port 6 (rightest one on front panel)
The labels on the box :
label 0 : Dual Media 1st port (eth0 in block diagram)
label 1 : Dual Media 2nd port (eth2 in block diagram)
label 2 - 5 : Port for SoHo switch (eth1 the rightest 4 ports from 88E6141)
label 6 : generic Ethernet port (eth3 in block diagram)
Please visit following link for detail behavior on dual media ports (ctrl+click the link or [macos] cmd + click the link)
## Check in OS , User will find the port which connect to SoHo switch is always in "UP" Status, even though front panel port 2 ~ 5 has no cable connected
