Purpose:
FWA-1010VC has 2 Dual Media Ports which is either supporting Fiber or Copper connection at same time for each. User can get dual media port linked up at either fiber or copper connection. This article will introduce detail behavior on how to get port link up of dual media ports.
Target Audience:
All users who are using this model and need to get links from Dual Media ports.
Link up rules:
Fiber connection always has higher priority on dual media ports due to hardware design. Following tables introduce LED/Link behaviors when LAN cable is connected to dual media ports.
- Which interfaces takes precedence? Fiber or Copper? If both copper and fiber are connected.
>> Fiber (SFP)
- Is this by Hardware design? If we want to reverse it, can we do it based on the software configuration?
>> Yes, Hardware Design. Configure by software is limited.
- Can you please send us the LED behavior for the dual-media ports for the following combinations
>> See below table , Fiber ports always take 1stpriority

Example:
If insert SFP transceiver or DAC cable into cage with copper (RJ45) port already connected (linked up). Copper (RJ45) port goes down, and SFP port takes over (link up), the traffic will switch to fiber port within few seconds.
